Connect Employment Services hosted its first annual “Sweet Success” event on April 6, 2006 at the Inn at the Forks. The evening was a great success! The jazz stylings of Larry Roy & Steve Kirby provided the perfect backdrop to the evening, as the sold out crowd indulged in a delicious array of desserts, including cheesecakes, pastries, cakes and a chocolate fountain. The silent auction was also a big hit, particularly the custom-made tea set from Lizette Ptashnick, and the Inn at the Forks package. Guests also had the opportunity to flex their brain power with our door prize draw, which required people to guess the number of chocolate eggs being displayed in a glass vase. And would you believe it - one lucky person actually guessed the EXACT number of eggs in the vase! When all is said and done, “Sweet Success” was an event of celebration. It launched a new phase in the life of our organization, and it offered an opportunity for us to celebrate the success that people with intellectual disabilities, and their supporters, have had in the community.
